Happy Monday! Well it’s actually Sunday night and I’m currently laying in bed just going over my weekend in my head. It was productive, fun, scary, and relaxing all combined…let me elaborate.
I worked Friday and Saturday and if you follow me on Snapchat or Instastories you’ll have seen what I was up to. If not (follow along @stephbarger), I was up to my eyeballs in Christmas decorating! We’re getting Dillard’s Trim-A-Home shop set up and there are some truly beautiful pieces coming this year. So my days at work have been consumed in ornaments and ribbon wrapping, and I will leave covered in glitter for the next 3 months.
In stark contrast, it was absolutely gorgeous outside so we managed to hit the pool after church. I can’t believe we’re still going to the pool at the end of September, but I can’t say I’m upset about that. It’s so nice to be able to enjoy the lingering heat poolside with a margarita in hand!
The horrifying part of my weekend consisted of my husband and close friends convincing me to see the movie IT. Now, for those of you who don’t know me on a personal level, I do NOT enjoy watching scary movies. So much, in fact, that I previously turned down a fun night with friends because they were all going to see IT together. But somehow they all managed to drag me into the theater to see it.
I was literally the only one in the theater screaming, and thank God I brought a blanket because I had my head under it almost the entire time. I made my husband promise me that after we saw it, he could never try to scare me around the house EVER again – which he agreed to under the compromise that I would start watching more scary movies with him. All in all I’m super proud of myself because I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone.
