Texture Plethora

One of my favorite things about Fall is doing some intense texture play. I love combining different fabrics and materials to give an outfit more dimension and interest. Here I was working with leather, fur, silk and a super chunky knit. You can take any sweater and throw it over a cute summery dress to get an effortless Fall look. I'm also loving earth tones, which are very useful in balancing out my skin tone as I turn into a vampire in the winter. Maybe it's time I start looking into different self-tanners to use at home.

Trying Trends

Last week when the weather was sunny and warm, I was able to wear every loose piece of clothing I owned. This was my first time trying out the culottes trend and I must add I am becoming a fan. Aren't you? What is better than a cozy half pant? Nothing. I can't wait to pair them with a chunky navy sweater when the weather gets cooler - which is right now.

Yes, my initials spell "cab". I have always liked that.

Apple Picking

I went apple picking for the first time this past weekend and it was a blast. I'd never had much interest in going but a couple girl friends put the trip together and I couldn't pass it up. Between good friends, the brisk weather, and hot apple cider it was fantastic first experience. We went about an hour outside of the city and it was great to escape. Although I didn't dress completely weather appropriate (it is much cooler than it looks), they were the most comfortable clothes I could find when running out the door at 8AM.

Now I have more apples than I know what to do with. Apple recipes anyone? Please share!

Casual Weekend

Happy Monday, darlings. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Mine was wonderful and spent mostly outdoors with my little family. I have officially decided that Colorado provides the best Fall I have ever experienced. The weather is perfectly crisp and the trees here this year have been absolutely gorgeous. I really just can't get enough of it. This was my cozy weekend attire for a fun day at the dog park with our little Shiba, Cali. Bear Creek Dog Park is my all-time favorite doggie haven. It sits on 10 acres so there's plenty of space for our hyper-active fur baby to run around and play, while also sitting at the base of the mountains being surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Blanket Scarf

I feel like there are so many items that I am lusting over for Fall. One of them being as many blanket scarves as my closet can hold. I love the look of a giant, fluffy scarf swallowing your neck, but I also love them draped around the shoulders as a shawl/wrap. I got this one from H&M and wore it with an oversized coat (for yesterday's post, in fact), but on the warmer evenings I like to just throw it over a tank top for a casual, chic look. Check out some other blanket scarves on my radar below!
