Snow Day

These photos are a little delayed as the snow is finally gone, but better late than never. I jetted out to Long Beach this past weekend for a quick work trip and I feel so behind on blogging. Stephanie and I have been working hard on giving the site a makeover and we are almost ready to go live! The blog was in much need of a facelift and we can't wait to show you guys!

While staying overly bundled during the snowstorm, it was nice to step out in something other than fleece-lined leggings. Overalls seemed like a perfect fit for a snowy brunch with friends. Although, my trip to California was extremely short it was nice to get away and regroup a little. I have been feeling a little uninspired lately but I think a weekend out of the city did the just the trick.

Cozy Weekend

I've been living in this awesome TJ Maxx gem of a sweater lately, it's so cozy and it's the perfect layer for running around with the kids. (Don't fret, I found almost the EXACT sweater for you linked here). Also notice I have my giant Louis on my arm, another dead giveaway that I'm out with the kiddos and hauling all of their essentials. I got to spend a lot of much needed quality time with my littles this weekend, and it was the perfect weather for family time. We got to run some errands, play at the park, and went out to dinner - a rarity for us! Then we ended our gorgeous weekend with a fun ice cream date. And to think it's Monday already...

I hope you all have a great week!

Valentine Jumpsuit

Valentines Day is right around the corner, and if you're anything like me you're already deciding what to wear. I came across this jumpsuit at work and it was an instant ooooh. But when when I pulled it down off the wall and saw the open back, it was a done deal. I tried tracking it down for all of you online but it's not available yet, however I have a full size run in store to ship to you if you need this for your Valentines date too. Just shoot us an email! Speaking of dates, what are your plans for the big V-Day? My husband and I want to do something different than the typical dinner and a movie, we would love some suggestions!

Winter Wonderland

For those of us on the East Coast- we survived the blizzard! Being from Alabama I am not used to the snow and I had plans to use it as the ultimate excuse to be lazy. How did you make it through Jonas? I slept in much later than I had in a long time and my body was beyond happy. I ended up throwing away my lazy plan, putting on more layers than were needed, and went out into the storm. It was quite amazing. There is something  about the stillness of the snow that is wonderful. I think we can all thank the snow for reminding us to stay cozy and do what makes you happy...whatever that may be.

After the Snow

Happy Monday, darlings. Another weekend come and gone, and same went the snow. However my kids had SO much fun waking up on Saturday to a fresh blanket outside! From the minute Jackson came downstairs, he was ready to go outside (fully dressed in a t-shirt and shorts). They got to play outside for a good hour before I realized they had been stepping in frozen doggy #2 hidden under the snow! Needless to say that was the end of their playtime. Fast forward to today, and it was gorgeous and 65. It's a good thing I have an insane obsession with poncho sweaters this year, they've proven to be the perfect layer for the crazy weather! I hope you all have a great week, and be looking for our new site launching soon!

HAPPY

This is my last set of photos from being home and I clearly took them before winter really hit. Remind me why I was excited for the cold again? Ah yes...layers. This (faux) leather jacket has really pulled through for me. It has been a great layer under my puffer coat on a bone chilling day. Enough of the weather talk! I know you didn't come here for a weather report.

A resolution of mine is to be happy. Genuinely happy - which for me, means appreciating and accepting the little things. Sometimes you have to look away from the big picture and see the little steps that are helping you paint it all together.  Which brings me to this beanie. It is the silliest thing. I saw it when I walked into Gap and immediately reached for it. I put it on and instantly felt happy. How can you not feel full of cheer when you have 'HAPPY' written across your forehead?!

Wine

Welcome back, darlings! We hope you all had a great Holiday weekend. Wine is such a trusty color. I'm still in partial denial of the weather because it gets so warm during the day, so a scarf has been a go-to because it's an easy layering piece but I still feel like I'm winter-appropriate. Plus on days where I continue to pick out all black, it gives me a pop of color. Work has kept me busy lately and I feel like I'm constantly on the go, and these booties are surprisingly super comfortable (and cheap!), so they've been in the rotation quite frequently as well.

Exciting news: we're currently undergoing a much needed site update! So stay tuned for exciting changes to the Darling Two in the near future. Anything in particular that you'd like to see differently? We'd love your feedback!
