Thanksgiving Sweater

Happy Hump Day everyone! Can you even believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow? I really can't. We're not traveling home to see family this year, but instead we're getting together with great friends and LOTS of great food. I've always thought of Thanksgiving to be more of a casual event, and leave the black-tie to Christmas. I love this cashmere turtleneck, it's so soft and of course it's oversized to leave room for the food baby. Don't have your T-Day outfit picked out yet? Head to your closest Dillard's to pick one up for tomorrow! Or you can order it here for later in the season. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Kind of Fancy, Kind of Not

I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago to a dinner party a girl friend hosted. It was the perfect excuse to get a little more dressed up than usual. However, me being me, I needed to feel some sort of casual comfort within my outfit. I love the pairing of the denim jacket with this look. With the weather getting much cooler now you could throw on an extra layer to stay warm: a faux fur vest, blanket scarf or a favorite long coat.

With the holidays right around the corner, this kind of fancy, kind of not pairing has been in the back of my mind when outfit planning. It is perfect for Thanksgjvjng (or a Friendsgiving!) and will be great for upcoming holiday parties.

Layer Up

Every year when it starts to get cooler I feel as if I have to reteach myself how to layer properly. I love buying my sweaters a size too big, but that isn't always practical for work or events other than enjoying a TV marathon. With that said, I have been leaning towards a skinny on the bottom and oversized on the top combination. The stripe underneath is actually a dress that you have seen before here and here. Layering the turtleneck on top gave it a whole new feel. My new found appreciation for layering also is great for my upcoming travels: pack less and still get wear great outfits! Who else is ready for a (much needed) long Thanksgiving weekend?

Back to Oversized

I definitely haven't been obsessing over oversized sweaters this season as much as I was last year. I don't know if it's because I'm becoming more aware of my shape, or maybe it's just not cold enough here yet. Regardless, I found another one that I'm currently loving. The wine color is right up my alley, and it really pops with the white pants. Yes - you all know I love my winter whites, and these pants are new from Jessica Simpson! I've been searching for a good pair of white trousers for a while, and while these aren't as structured as I'd like them to be, they are a great shape and will look good with just about any sweater in the winter. I couldn't find them online, but send us an email and we can  find you a pair in stores!

New York Moment

I took these photos a little while ago, but these pieces have been on repeat. With the holidays around the corner I am trying to recycle my wardrobe some. I love the length of this midi skirt and it is perfect for a holiday brunch or dinner with friends and family. I am looking forward to the upcoming holidays this year and getting to go home for two weeks at the end of December. Stephanie and I are putting together lots of holiday gift guides and outfit posts for you guys. Any suggestions? We would love to hear!

All Grey

TGIF! Grey has been a favorite for quite some time now, but in the Fall I love it even more. It just looks super chic and effortless, and creates the perfect monochromatic look. This shag vest is under $100, and would be a great Christmas gift to a friend or sister (or yourself.) I've linked the whole look at the bottom of the post, and several different sites with all sizes available for the vest! I hope you all have a great weekend, and happy shopping!
