Valentines Day

Whether your a fan of Valentine's Day or not, you can't help but love everything with hearts, pink, or lacy around this time of year. Courtney has to work on Valentine's Day this year (WHAT?!), but I am so excited to enjoy a fun date night out with my hubby - especially since he was deployed last year. With that being said, here are some of our favorite V-Day inspired items, whether you need a dress for your date, the perfect shade of lipstick, or a cozy sweater to snuggle up on the couch in with your dog. Hey, we're not judging, we've been there too. There's also some good gifting ideas on here too, so feel free to shoot this link towards your significant other to drop a few hints (I may or may not be intensely emphasizing these pink Louboutin's at my husband).

This or That: Puffer Vest

A little late, but this is (finally) our first 'This or That' of the new year! A puffer vest just seemed like the obvious choice when creating this post. Stephanie has been dying to wear her vest and I have been wanting to pull mine out of the closet for the first time this year. A vest is tricky because it is essentially adding a giant fluffy layer, hence the belt, so you have to be cautious with your styling. But there are thinner down vests like Stephanie's from J.Crew that add a little less bulk. Sometimes it's nice to step away from your giant puffy coats and embrace a lighter layer.

Snow Day

I am sure you all have heard by now, it snowed in New York yesterday/this morning. Aside from the cold it isn't nearly as bad as the weathermen said. But when have they ever really been right? If you are up north I hope you are staying safe and warm! Although, three New York winters later I am still adjusting to the snow. Being from the south, this is some of the most snow I have (ever) seen.

As much as I would love a snow day in bed with my heated blanket, I am currently running out the door to head to the office. Staying bundled (and not slipping) is my only concern right now. I am also very behind when it comes to preparing for blizzards because I have still yet to by snow boots. There is always next year! And most importantly? My corner bodega opened this morning so I won't have to run around without coffee. I consider that a win for Juno.

Cropped Turtleneck

I have been in love with this powder blue color this season, not to mention these amazing James Jeans jeggings. So with a cropped sweater, this outfit was a perfect match. And since the weather has been so warm lately, the first day the temps dropped under 50 I jumped at the chance to wear a turtleneck. I also like to pretend I have short hair sometimes, so I leave my hair tucked inside my collar. It gives the appearance of a LOB without actually having to be brave and chop my hair off. I never thought I would be so upset about 60-degree weather during the winter, but it's really putting a damper on my coat game. So here's to hoping for a cold front.

Easy Date Night

So we signed up for this new gym in Augusta, and one thing we love about it is the fact that every Friday night they have a "parents night out". For only 5 DOLLARS, Jason and I get to go out to dinner, kid free. I'll take that along with my Pilates classes any day! So I'm bringing you an easy date night outfit in lieu of this amazing new discovery. My little sister was cleaning out her closet and she came across this cute jacket, so naturally I snatched it from her before she could get rid of it. I think it's the perfect little ruffly topper for a fun, relaxed night out - which is EXACTLY what we need. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Keeping Cozy

I forgot the importance of keeping cozy when you are sick. I am not talking about sneezing and feeling tired. I am talking about 101.4 fever and unable to get out of bed kind of sick. That last sentence was my current situation since last Wednesday. You always hear that getting really sick as adult is 10x times worse than being sick as kid. Whoever said that? You win.

I was stuck in bed until about Saturday/Sunday. I got out for breakfast and that was an adventure in itself for me. The thought of getting out of my sweats and putting on real clothes sounded exhilarating, yet utterly exhausting. Never underestimate a good pair of slippers and oversized sweaters you are able to put on rotation. Above is a small (and limited) survival guide of my past week. Not pictured: water, Gatorade and Netflix.
