Born On The 4th Of July

For those of you who didn't know, Jackson is a 4th of July baby. So we have quite a collection of clothing for him in the red, white & blue department. But this year I found tons of great pieces at Old Navy, and they're having the BEST sale right now. I always love switching it up and finding different things for him to wear this time of year, and this year I was feeling a more casual laid-back look for him. He's been so active and getting into everything, I wanted to make sure he had something comfortable that I wouldn't have to worry about getting dirty. I can't believe he is about to be 4 years old! We are so excited to celebrate his birthday in a few days (and America, of course).

Summer Layers

TGIF. My weekend outfits have been getting super casual as of late. I guess I can thank my summer laziness for that. And especially when this weather is being ridiculous and can't decide whether it wants to bring on the sunshine or storm...it makes things very difficult in the morning. So this little camel and black look was created due to a mid-day downpour. I got this hat recently from Forever21 and I just love it! It goes with everything, but this ensemble especially. This weekend I'll be working everyday and preparing for our vacation next week...so much to do! So any helpful packing tips would be much appreciated. I hope you all have a great weekend! xx

Seeing Green

A basic maxi is definitely a summer staple. And when I came across this one at Express (for only $35!) I knew it had to become one of my essentials. It's super comfortable and easy, just a simple pull on maxi with lots of elastic and a slit up the back. So there's plently of movement and I don't feel restricted at all. And this green is just a really great bold color. I wore it with sandals and dainty accessories to keep it casual, but I'm planning on taking it with me to Hawaii and dressing it up with heels and a statement necklace!

Summer Finds Under $100

I have been itching to go shopping lately. The downfall? Being on a budget. Ugh, being an adult is so difficult sometimes. Nothing makes me want to go shopping more than when I have a big change in my life. A new job means an entirely new wardrobe, right? Right. And with Stephanie going on her tropical vacation soon, I want to shop for vacation pieces for the vacation that I am not going on. The best part about my current shopping list, I have made is that everything is under $100. Enjoy!

The Cut-Offs Criteria

Our vacation is coming up - 10 days! - so I've been on the 'last-call' hunt for the rest of my packing list. Denim shorts were at the top. I'm very picky with my shorts these days because 1. they can't be too short (I'm a mom now guys I can't have my cheekies hanging out), 2. they have to be comfortable and 3. I want them high-waisted. So my search has been going on for weeks now, with no luck because I just couldn't find affordable pairs that fit all my criteria. But remember I found this cute tropical print tank in American Eagle? The whole reason I stumbled in there was to try on some of their shorts. And y'all..it didn't take me but 2 seconds in these bad boys before I was ripping them off and running to the cash register. They are SO COMFORTABLE. And if you've tried on as many high-waisted cut-off as I have...you'll know that's hard to find. So I actually ended up buying them in several colors! Mission accomplished. So I wore them all weekend, and I love the way they look with a fun graphic muscle tank. I got this one from H&M several years ago, but Forever21 has a pretty sweet collection this year. You can shop all of their graphic tanks here. I hope you all have a great start to your week!

And don't forget - Today is the last day to enter to win the men's styling kit from Old Spice! Head to the post to enter here

Father's Day with Old Spice

Well it's Friday, and Father's Day is on Sunday. So if you're a procrastinator, we have an excellent gifting idea for all you last-minute ladies. We've teamed up with Old Spice today to present some awesome gifts for Dad, and we're giving away a full kit to one of you! My husband and I have always been fans of Old Spice, the smell is so distinct and fresh, and I totally don't mind cuddling up in those armpits. But I actually never realized the extensive hair care collection that Old Spice has! They have a full line of shampoos and 2-in-1's, as well as 5 different styling products. My first thought when I saw all the styling products was, WOAH - okay, Jason is never going to know what to do with all of these. But after giving them a once-over, they each have a description and visual silhouette on the packaging that offers all the information the guys need to pick the styler that best fits them. It's pretty fool-proof.

Jason is more of a pomade guy and usually wears his hair smoothed over, so the Spiffy and Cruise Control were his two go-tos. The Cruise Control is a light cream that just adds a little texture, and is more of a casual everyday look for him. The Spiffy is more of a pomade, so it has more sculpting power for a clean cut look. Other products include the spiking glue, texture paste, and high hold putty, as well as the 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioners that both smell AMAZING.

And now for the fun part, we would like to give one of YOU this full kit to give to your special man on Father's Day (or boyfriend, or husband in fact if you don't have kids!) Simply follow the instructions in our rafflecopter below by liking our Facebook page and commenting below our post! Good luck, and Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful Dad's out there!
