Not Another Kimono

JK, it is. I know I told myself I wouldn't buy another one, but I got this one on sale and it was too pretty to resist. I feel like each of my kimono's are very different and serve a very different wardrobe least that's what I'm telling myself. Anyways, I just love all the embroidery on this one, its very girly. And sometimes a girl just wants to wear pink! I paired it with an all-white ensemble so this kimono was the star of the show. I actually wore this last weekend on a fun family outing to the Aquarium, but I can't promise it won't make another appearance this weekend.

This is also the last weekend to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Head to our blog post here to see some of our favorites. Have a great weekend, darlings!

This or That: Pineapples

When you were a kid your parents always told you not to make a mess and wear your food. Well we agree 100%, just less mess. There is something about a pineapple print that makes you feel extra summery. It may remind you of the tropical vacation you aren't taking this year, but that is okay (sorry, Court). If you aren't ready to fully commit to wearing your food you can start simple with a single printed item. Not concerned about too much print? Go for the gold and snag a piece covered in mini pineapple emoji's. Feeling fruity? You can shop our favorite pineapple pieces below!

P.S.: We didn't plan on doing pineapple and matching tan bags. Great minds think alike, right?

Canadian Tux

I am starting to feel as if denim cut-offs are always a good idea. As of lately they are really getting me through the weekend. We have been over this before: anything denim is easy. I don't have to put much thought behind my outfit and I can run out the door (and try to not to be any later than I probably already am). With that said, whoever invented the "Canadian tux" is genius and I may consider somewhat of a fashion hero.

If you are in the market for denim (or anything else) Nordstrom is still having their Anniversary Sale! You can pick all the denim you have ever dreamed of and wear the Canadian tux until your heart can't take it anymore. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the sale, we put together some of our favorites here.

Summer Sweaters

Summer sweaters are something you don't often think to buy, but when the time comes you'll be glad you own one. A good pullover, a vest or poncho, and a cardigan/kimono are all items you'll find very useful in summer layering - especially if you work in a business/business casual setting. I have so many sleeveless dresses and I always want to wear them to work, but I need to make sure I have my shoulders covered, and sometimes a blazer just wont cut it. That's why I've started investing in so many summer sweaters. Here in the south, it gets HOT. Really hot. Unbearably hot. So I need to pick and choose my knits wisely so I don't melt away and die. I found this one on sale a few months back and I had to snatch it up. I tried to find it online for you guys, but no to avail, so I found a few others that have similar qualities and now I want all those too! You can find them in the bottom of the post.

Layers of Lace

When I originally bought this dress I had special occasions in mind, but that has not been the case. I love how versatile the layers of lace can be. Remember when I wore this dress last summer with my Nike's ? I ended the weekend at my favorite coffee spot, people watching with a girl friend. Aside from my usual coffee spot, this weekend was full of firsts. I tried out a new pizza spot with my girls and finally made it to the Natural History Museum on Saturday. After three years of being in the city, I am starting to check things off my list.
