Road Trip

Happy Monday, everyone. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. We took a little road trip to see some of our closest friends in South Carolina this weekend, and despite the fact that the weather didn't hold up to our expectations, we had a wonderful time. Vising with old friends it's always so refreshing, especially after you've moved to a new place and haven't completely gotten settled. It's nice to see a familiar face and be able to lounge, brunch and laugh about life. This sweater was my pick for the car ride. I wanted something comfortable and warm (I am always cold in the car), and this wrap cardigan was the perfect layer. Robe coats were so huge this winter, I'm excited to carry the style into spring with this sweater. Then of course I wore my most comfortable ankle boots from H&M, and my giant Neverfull bag - because as it says, it's really never full - so it's perfect for weekend getaways!

Current Uniform

Today's post is simple, but I was too cold to take off my coat. To be my honest, this my everyday uniform: layers under a coat, beanie, and normally a more weather appropriate shoe. Some days I just get lazy (and I am usually running late) so this week has been simple. Although, I should probably take Stephanie's approach and wear spring colors to make the cold not seem so bad.

How could I forget, happy Friday! Is it just me or has this week been going on for far too long? Lately my weekends have been packed, so I am excited I really have nothing planned for this one. A weekend to rest is never a bad thing. I will probably find my way to my favorite coffee shop and do a little binge watching on Netflix. Any show recommendations? However you spend your weekend, I hope it is a good one!

This or That: Lace Details

We are happy to present you with a 'This or That' post for the first time in a while. So sorry! Sometimes life happens and the things you need to get done just don't. But we're back! Ever since I bought this lace dress Stephanie and I both have been swooning over it. I don't wear it often because it gets a little short when if I move to quickly...or sneeze. Also, who needs pants in the winter?  Because Stephanie is unable to borrow my sweater dress (insert why we started the blog here) she went out and bought her own. Independent woman. Even though neither of these dresses are available anymore, we found similar ones that we've linked below! The look is also easy to recreate by layering a black sweater dress or just oversize knit over the top of a lace slip. We linked some of those as well for your convenience ;)

I was unable to bundle the bottom half of my body as I am not a tights fan, so I opted for multiple layers on top. We are both very much over winter and ready for the warmer weather. Stephanie went with a black and white casual look, adding a printed sweater and white converse. The lace detailing is totally worth the slight chill numbness on the knees.

Lace details in the cooler months. What are your thoughts?

Bringing the Sunshine

Happy Hump Day darlings! We sincerely apologize for the lack of posting lately, the weather has been truly uninspiring. The clouds are still out today, but I can see the sun! So you can imagine how my morning's been, running around singing "I can see clearly now the rain is gone." We will see how long the weather holds out for, because it may only be for a few hours. Regardless, I'm going to take full advantage - which includes running errands without having to run back and forth from the car as to not drown. This sweater is my call for help to the sun, isn't it fantastic? It greeted me at the entrance of H&M a few weeks ago, and when I tried it on I knew it was coming home. I am in love with this color for spring, and you'll be seeing me pairing it with cobalt later on in the season. You can shop some other favorite lemon-yellow sweaters at the bottom of the post!

Basics + Rocksbox

Basics are a staple in every closet, and you really just can't have too many. I know I have probably told myself to stop buying grey tee's before...but when I saw this one during a thrift store binge the other day I couldn't pass it up. From the front it looks just like a plain grey tee, but as you turn to the sides you see the cute lace ruffle detail along the back, so it was an acceptable purchase (and for $5 I wouldn't have left it regardless). The other great thing about basics is the freedom to accessorize. I got these pieces in the mail from Rocksbox a few days ago, and I am beyond thrilled with the selection. Have you tried Rocksbox? It's like Netflix for jewelry (catch my S&TC reference here?). They have great designers like Gorjana, Perry Street and Loren Hope, and you can trade them in as much as you'd like! And for only $19 a month I'd say it's totally worth it, especially if you're like me and don't splurge on jewelry often. You can try out a free month of Rocksbox when you use the code sbargerxoxo

Work It Out

1. Old Navy Pullover // This is definitely one of my favorite pullovers. It's hard when you want a jacket that can keep you warm and cool at the same time, and for this price you really can't beat it.

2. Gym Duffel // I orginally bought a small, cute gym bag. However, once I realized I was heading to the gym after work and needed to fit my purse, shoes, outfit and shower bag into it, I realized a duffel was in order. I found this one on Nordstrom's website and I love it!

3. iHome Sleeve // I originally saw my sister with this, and after using hers I knew I needed one for myself. It fits perfectly on my arm and distributes the weight well so it doesn't feel super heavy while I'm running.

4. Nalgene Bottle // I've always been a Nalgene girl, mainly because they hold so much liquid (I turn into a buffalo when I work out and can drink a gallon of water within minutes). I fill it with a little water and then stick it in the freezer so it makes a giant ice cube, and then I fill it all the way up. But I like this bottle in particular because of the narrow mouth, so you don't have water spilling down your face...I know you've been that girl before.

5. Lululemon Tank // I mean really, who isn't a fan of Lululemon? I just like this tank in particular because it says "Mamalete". That's a Webster's term.

6. Gianni Bini Sports Bra // I love a cute sports bra! This one is definitely more for looks than for utility, although the support is pretty good.

7. Onzie Yoga Pants // I found these babies for a great price, and after researching the brand I was so curious to try them out. They're super lightweight and feel AMAZING while you're working out, whether you're in class or on the treadmill.

8. Nike Air Pegasus // Confession: I haven't actually tried these yet. I've been researching tennis shoes for weeks now and I think this is the par I've finally settled on. I take a lot of classes (Barre, Pilates, Zumba, and Yoga) so I need another shoe that will give me a little more support than my Nike Frees. I've read great things about these shoes, so I will let you know my thoughts in a few weeks!

9. Victoria's Secret Sports Bra // This bra is definitely not as pretty as the Gianni Bini, but I LOVE it. The support is fantastic and it's incredibly comfortable (yes even with the zipper). I've always been a fan of VS athletic wear and this bra didn't disappoint!
